Looking  forward to your segment on the 50s and public art as I lived in SF as a child and remember the Bufano controversy over St. Francis. My mother was a former WPA artist( sculpture) in NYC who moved to SF in 1953. She, Mary Perry Stone, was a social protest painter.</description>
